On 31 August 2015, German Federal President Joachim Gauck met two young United Nations champions at his official residence in Bonn, the Villa Hammerschmidt. The two young adults are the members of the German delegation to the UN General Assembly in New York.
Gauck referred to the importance of “bring UN issues to the class room” and encouraged the youth for their effort to raise awareness for the UN. The Federal President also mentioned the role of German Youth Delegate Programme and stressed that the Youth Delegates is the link between the German youth and the UN.
United nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe (UNRIC) staff and the other UN representatives from Bonn also attended the gathering.
